As we prepare ourselves for another year, we might want to create a reminder list that's different than resolutions.
Welcome to 2023.
As we prepare ourselves for another year, we might want to create a reminder list to ponder over these next 365 days.
This isn't a list of resolutions like "lose weight," but a suggestion to take meaningful action over the course of the next 12 months.
This list's purpose is to remind us of what we wanted to do — and nudge us throughout the year to act on our ideas. We should hold onto it, keep it in a safe spot and review our words often.
No one's list will look the same, as some might have only 12 reminders each month, while others have 100. Regardless, the list can be short or long and doesn't require daily action.
Here are some suggestions:
Write more hand-written thank you notes
Volunteer your services to someone in need
Mentor a young person
Find a mentor
Take an online class
Reconnect with old friends
Say thank you more often
Don't judge anyone
Say no more often
Make time to think and review
Ignore your phone for an hour or even a day each week
Give away clothes and items you don't use
Take a walk to think
Speak the truth
Be bold
Embrace curiosity
Develop a new hobby
Be proactive
Stay in the moment while listening more
Be grateful for life
You can add or subtract from the list, but take today to reflect on what reminders would best serve the person you want to become. Then, write them down.
Make 2023 your best year yet, and as we wrote last week, don't allow self-doubt to get in the way of your pursuits.
