Humanizing the Power of Leadership
Leadership is about positively altering and transforming the life of another person — and self-leadership is about evolving, transforming and learning from our own past.
We are in the midst of a leadership deficit.
The Daily Coach was founded to confront these 21st century voids and to ultimately champion change and growth. Self-leadership and self-discipline will always be the birthplace of development for not just ourselves but also our teams.
Realize that “leader” is not a title, an office suite or a pay grade. It goes beyond any accolades and achievements. Leadership is a lifestyle that stretches beyond ourselves and recognizes the power of WE over ME.
At the heart of authentic leadership are not digital growth, analytics and net gains, but people and relationships. Technology may be useful to leverage our visions and micro successes, but leaders must consistently invest time, energy and emotional equity into the hearts, minds and souls of their teams.
Our personal improvement as leaders and positive difference-makers requires our awareness, truth-seeking and honesty. If we took some time today to reflect on our actions and not our words as leaders, what would we learn about our priorities?
Leadership is about positively altering and transforming the life of another person — and self-leadership is about evolving, transforming and learning from our own past. But when we show up with authenticity, vulnerability and courageous transparency, we can cultivate a unique opportunity to venture into the hearts of those we lead. When granted sacred access into another person's heart, we can gather deeper insight into who they truly are as human beings and be more effective leaders. After all, our hearts are precious and hold our humanity.
On our onward and soulful journey, we should remain mindful not to compromise the ultimate power of humanizing leadership to obtain a short-term success. Taking shortcuts and marginalizing the process cheats our teams, and ultimately, ourselves from transforming the way we live, love, parent, and lead.
