Let's Talk About Love

We can easily lose sight of our true identity because the external world relentlessly tries to tell us who we should or should not be.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

— Rumi, Persian poet and Islamic scholar

We have been indoctrinated with strategically packaged and mass distributed images of love. Since birth, we have felt different levels of it. But many of the narratives that have entered our minds and, at times, contaminated our beliefs never truly engaged or empowered the most vital kind of love: Self-Love.

YOU are ENOUGH. Yes, YOU.

You always have been.

We can easily lose sight of our true identity because the external world relentlessly tries to tell us who we should or should not be. Every day is an opportunity to silence the outer chatter — but more importantly, it’s a chance to silence the inner dialogue that tells you that you’re inadequate. Lies cannot flourish and spread throughout your body when you do not give them power to do so. It is not so much about learning how to love yourself. It’s unlearning all the ways that you reject yourself.

Speaker, author, and behavioral scientist Steve Maraboli once said:

“Love yourself enough to create an environment in your life that is conducive to the nourishment of your personal growth. Allow yourself to let go of the people, thoughts, and situations that poison your well-being.”

The greatest gift you will be able to bestow upon the world is embracing and celebrating who you are. We must unlearn to then relearn what it means to live a truly authentic, vulnerable and independent life.

A life free from worrying about what people think of you and longing for validation. A life free from consuming the latest fashions, gadgets and trends to feel accepted. A life free from being subjected to societies’ hindered rules and regulations.

The more material possessions drive our lives, the less free we are to unconditionally love and explore our personal depths.

Your story has immense value and is already a masterpiece. Trying to be anyone else is a waste of the divine intelligence and beauty that is YOU. The world is your canvas. Today is another precious moment to participate in your holistic development while loving yourself just a little bit more!
