"Notes" of An Elder
Speak in terms of "We" and "Us," so other people feel empowered and supportive.
Nothing in life is of any value unless it is shared with others.
"Notes" of An Elder is a depository of pertinent information, knowledge and wisdom. Available weekly will be an elder's "thinking menu" for your use. Enjoy this bounty.
Organize your thoughts. Practice going from what you know to discover what you don't know.
There will always be critics and skeptics who unwillingly try to ridicule and criticize the person who plods on despite the circumstances.
Search until you find what you can do best, what no one could pay you enough money not to do ―what you would gladly pursue for the privilege of doing. Then do it with all that is within you.
Speak in terms of "We" and "Us," so other people feel empowered and supportive.
What Happens When Coaches Lose Games?
Fundamentals: We get away from them.
Aggressive: We take out our frustrations by being aggressive with people.
Insure: We doubt our abilities.
Lonely: Try to avoid people.
Undisciplined: Do our own thing.
Resentment: Blame others.
Enthusiasm: We lose it and get self-pity instead.
“Our chief want in life, is, someone who shall make us do what we can.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
The higher up you go, the more mistakes you are allowed.
Information is a Commodity: Where is it coming from? Where is it kept? Who has access to it? Who is responsible for distributing it? What to do with it?
Have more than thou showest. Speak less than thou knowest.
No one treats everyone alike, but you should treat everyone with a degree of respect and dignity.
