"Notes" of An Elder
We have more control over our lives than we think. It just takes courage to take our life back from society.
Today is the last day to submit your application for our new, Daily Coach Academy. If you wish you had a small group of fellow growth-minded coaches, business execs, or administrators to connect and swap notes about leading and building teams with each month, don’t miss today’s deadline.
Nothing in life is of any value unless it is shared with others.
"Notes" of An Elder is a depository of pertinent information, knowledge and wisdom. Available weekly will be an elder's "thinking menu" for your use. Enjoy this bounty.
Coaches have a broader responsibility to their players beyond winning and losing games.
People put labels on you, and then the minute there are labels on you, they put fences around you, and then you become a prisoner of that label.
Most difficult decisions are made by courageous leaders who understand that at the end of the day, they will get a lot of criticism.
At the core of all our authentic relationships is trust.
Study what the future will look like and what skill sets you will need to remain relevant in this ever-changing world.
The Relationship Culture
Build an inner circle of people with whom you can seek and share:
love
truth and advice
wisdom and solutions
compassion and encouragement
We have more control over our lives than we think. It just takes courage to take our life back from society.
Discipline yourself to ask young people their opinions and respect their opinions. It doesn't mean you have to agree with it.
Productivity becomes a byproduct of energy, time, and environmental management.
Make sure that sometime during the day, you have allocated "think time," where you can just sit and have a deep, rich, constructive conversation with yourself.
Learn to be an active listener and listen to understand because that is the only way to participate in a real conversation.
Some day, we will all arrive at a point where we say: You know, I've had my day in the sun. I had a chance to get to the mountaintop. It's no longer can be about me; it has to be about other people.
Magic Question
What am I doing about the things that matter most in my life?
