The Power of A Liberated Mind

Every day one of our biggest challenges becomes how we will manage distractions.

“More than the money we make, the awards, or recognition, or titles we earn, each of us will be measured by how much we contribute to the success of the people around us…True wealth comes from contributing to the liberation of people.”

— Robert F. Smith

Is what you are doing today getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow? Every day one of our biggest challenges becomes how we will manage distractions. We live in a society where everything is up for sale. Do not fall in love with the dollar. Fall in love with the truth. When we commit to speaking the language of truth and living in truth, daily life presents us with two unique choices:

  1. We can step fearlessly forward into self-discovery, growth, and development.

  2. We can retreat timidly into security, comfort, and the status quo.

Comedian and television host Ellen DeGeneres once said:

So live simply today, dream big, fall and get back up, be grateful, give love, laugh lots, and never forget that people do not always need advice. As you read these declarations, realize, all people need sometimes is a hand to hold, an ear to listen, and a heart that understands them.

  • Partake in random acts of slowness by turning off your smartphone, having dinner with the family, taking a walk in nature, and slowing down your lifestyle.

  • Partner with people who have the strengths you do not have.

  • The worst things you can do for the ones you love are the things they could do for themselves.

  • One of the greatest joys of leadership is helping others achieve what they never thought possible.

  • We miss a lot of opportunities to learn, to stretch our mental horizons, and to discover that we are the strangers because of our inability to connect with others personally unknown to us.

  • Focus on telling people how and why they are great.

  • We are living in an era when the gap between what you can imagine and what you can accomplish has never been smaller.

  • Do not add until you subtract. Before you add something to people’s plates, you would be wise to help them find a way to take something off it.

  • Our fundamental human responsibility is to show up daily, to be present, and to strive for productivity over busyness.

What you do today are actions towards who you will become tomorrow. So be who you want to become. Realize deeply to create peace in the outer world, you must first learn or relearn to find peace within by embracing, accepting, and loving yourself just the way you are. Only when we stretch beyond what is normal will we discover all that we can become!

P.S. If you are in search of a book recommendation, our team at The Daily Coach highly recommends Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Dr. Carol S. Dweck. After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D., discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In this brilliant book, she shows how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities.
