The weekly Sunday Thinking newsletter is quick-hit content that aims to provide a booster shot to your thought process as you end and start your week.

“A bad week ain't gonna last. A bad month ain't gonna last. It's just as long as you working on yourself and you trying to better yourself in those moments ― its okay to not be okay, to be okay.”

― Demar DeRozan, NBA All-Star

I. Courage to Turn Page

One of the most difficult experiences in life is that unless you break the cycle, unless you remove yourself from a situation or environment where you have been hurt, you will most likely continue to be hurt.

  • Turning the page is extremely difficult.

  • Because it implies understanding and accepting that letting go of someone means that, while they may have been a part of your history, they do not have to be a part of your destiny.

II. Legacy Going for It

Dreams are fun when they are distant. The imagination loves to play with possibilities when there is no risk of failure.

  • But when you find yourself on the verge of action, you pause.

  • You can feel the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Thoughts swirl. Maybe this isn't the right time? Failure is possible now.

In that moment—in that short pause that arises when you stand face to face with your dream—is the entirety of life.

  • What you do in that pause is the crucible that forges you.

  • It is the dividing line between being the type of person who thinks about it or the type of person who goes for it.

When I really think about it, I want that moment to be my legacy. Not that I won or lost. Not that I looked good or looked like a fool. But that when I had something I really wanted to do, I went for it.

III. The Journey to You

If you don't know what to pursue in life right now ― pursue yourself.

Pursue becoming...

  • the healthiest,

  • the happiest,

  • the most healed,

  • the most present,

  • the most confident version of yourself.

Then, the right path will reveal itself.

V. Question

What is something you would be proud to fail on, if you had the courage to attempt it?

VI. This Week, I Will

  1. Be proud of my growth.

  2. Take mental health breaks.

  3. Remember, asking for help is a sign of strength.

  4. Surround myself with people who push me to grow.

  5. Remember, I don't have to have it all figured out to move forward.

The Last Words…

"I’m choosing to focus on nurturing relationships where effort is reciprocated. I am staying close to people who make me feel valued and appreciated. When I peel back the layers, I can see that the core of these connections enriches my life. My relationships remind me of the importance of being present for myself and others. In this season of my life, matching effort is a shared commitment to maintaining healthy and fulfilling connections. It's about recognizing the worth in each other and ensuring that worth is honored through our actions. As I continue to grow and change, I hold this truth close: I am worthy of strong bonds that are deeply nourishing. We all are."
