“If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we are not really living. Growth demands a temporary surrender of security. It may mean a giving up of familiar but limiting patterns, safe but unrewarding work, values no longer believed in, relationships that have lost their meaning. As Dostoevsky put it, “Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.” The real fear should be of the opposite course.”
― Gail Sheehy, Journalist & Author
I. The Discoveries In Our Questions
Every day, ask yourself tough questions about whether you are living up to your core values. Design your questions to provoke reflection and internal discussion and, most importantly, action.
Impact – What did I do today to acknowledge someone else’s leadership?
Courage – What did I do today with no guarantee that it would work, but I did it anyway?
Empowerment – What did I do today that will enable someone else to get closer to his or her goals?
Growth – What did I do today to help someone learn what he or she needs to know?
Class – What did I do today to make potentially troubling situations better? Your goal is to “elevate, not escalate.”
Self-respect – What did I do today that will bolster how I see myself?

II. The Power Of One Second
Reminder ― It only takes one second to say:
I love you.
I apologize.
Can we talk?
You were right.
I don't want to be at odds.
It would be wise if we stopped letting pride and ego hold us hostage, from healing and experiencing our birthright of joy in life.
III. The Beauty In Falling
So, friends, when you fall—because you will—when you stumble or when you feel stuck, know that you can always lean into your power by choosing to start over and begin again. Falling doesn't make you a failure. It creates familiarity with your humanness and resilience. Here are some gentle reminders for the onward journey:
You can't be anything to anyone if you're nothing to yourself.
Even on my worst day, I trust that better days are on the way.
Giving yourself permission to start over is how you show yourself love.
The older I get, the more comfortable I am with not entertaining things that make me feel unworthy, uncertain and unclear.

IV. What We’re Excited About
Hate to break it to you, but here’s the truth…
2022 is going to be a make-or-break year for your portfolio. If you paid attention in 2021, you’d have seen that traditional financial news outlets didn’t talk about emerging market stocks or growing ESG expectations for major companies like Exxon or Blackrock--or many other things that actually affect your portfolio.
Where you get your business and investing information matters more than ever.
The Daily Upside is a free newsletter that provides unbiased, informed, and witty coverage of the biggest trends in the business world, all in a 5-minute read.
V. Question
What feels heavy right now and what feels easeful + light?
VII. This Week, I Will
Celebrate life's moments.
Be patient with my process.
Remember, rest is essential.
Not get caught up in distractions or ego.
Realize growth looks different for everyone.
The Last Words…
“People sacrifice the present for the future. But life is available only in the present. That is why we should walk in such a way that every step can bring us to the here and the now.”
― Thich Nhat Hanh, Global Spiritual Leader
