“We have more power than we realize. Whether we realize it or not, our entire life each day is held by inner power, our inner warrior, and higher purpose.”
— Lalah Delia, Vibrate Higher Daily
I. Controlling the Controllables
There are numerous things we have zero control over. But each day, we have more control than we think. We can control:
How honest we are.
What books we read.
How many risks we take.
How many times we smile.
How often we say I love you.
Whether or not we ask for help.
How much time we waste worrying.
How often we take time to appreciate life.
Whether or not we try again after a setback.
How often we take care of our health and wellbeing.
II. The Empathy Menu
In today's climate, empathy isn't just a “soft skill.” It’s a core requirement if we’re going to engage with those we lead. There are three different kinds of empathy:
Cognitive Empathy: “I understand how you see things, how you think about the world, your mental models, and that lets me communicate with you very effectively.”
Emotional Empathy: “I know what you’re feeling, because I feel—or have felt—it too.”
Empathic Concern: “I care about you. It’s not just that I know how you feel and think, but I want what’s good for you, not just what’s good for me.”

III. Finding Gratitude
No matter the circumstances I will rise to find moments in life to be grateful for:
I am grateful for my resilience & laughter.
I am grateful for music & good conversations.
I am grateful for making it this far & for empathy.
I am grateful for the lessons learned & my awareness.
I am grateful to be alive & for the good people in my life.
I am grateful for the beauty of nature & new experiences.
I am grateful for quiet moments & the ability to transform.

The Last Words…
“Honor your most difficult seasons. Accept your lowest moments. Release all forms of shame and guilt attached to your shortcomings. Practice radical acceptance of everything in this world that’s out of your control. Love yourself, always.”
