Sunday Thinking

"When the world feels like too much, focus on what you can control: your actions, your mindset, and your heart."

The weekly Sunday Thinking newsletter is quick-hit content that aims to provide a booster shot to your thought process as you end and start your week.

"You’ve been breaking your own heart for too long. Occupying spaces that shrink every fiber of who you are, wearing disguises that mask your authentic self to make people comfortable. But it’s never too late to start clothing yourself in energy more fitting of who you want to be."

― Billy Chapata, Flowers on the Moon

I. Next Play Mentality

A surefire way to make a bad situation worse is to continue replaying it in your mind.

  • The damage is done.

  • The only thing that matters now is making the best choice given your current position.

Next play mentality.

II. The Truth About Growing

Here's a key truth to remember on your journey: there is no final version of you. You will never reach a point where you've "arrived" at your ultimate self because growth is not about reaching a destination.

  • Instead, it's about becoming the best version of yourself at each moment, embracing the process of constant change and self-discovery.

  • Instead of trying to change everything at once, start small. Focus on manageable steps you can take day by day.

Be patient with yourself. Know that becoming your best self isn't about achieving perfection but about appreciating each step of the journey.

So, allow yourself to grow at your own pace. Every experience, whether it feels like progress or a setback, is part of your path. Embrace the journey, and let it be enough.

III. Trust Your Compass, Take the Step

You're allowed to feel overwhelmed, but what you're not gonna do is sit there and give up.

  • You're not gonna let one setback define you or let fear hold you back.

  • You're not gonna undo all the progress you've made by finding comfort in self-sabotage.

You have too much brilliance and resilience to let it end like this.

Rest, recalibrate, trust your inner compass, and take that next step.

V. Question

How can you nurture a mindset of gratitude that embraces both the highs and lows of life?

VI. This Week, I Will

  1. Empower others.

  2. Give myself space and grace.

  3. Let someone know I am grateful for them.

  4. Take a moment to breathe, recharge and give thanks.

  5. Remember endings aren’t failures; they’re transitions.

The Last Words…

"Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude."

― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Philosopher
