Sunday Thinking

"Breathe. You haven’t met all of you yet. There is so much more life left to live."

The weekly Sunday Thinking newsletter is quick-hit content that aims to provide a booster shot to your thought process as you end and start your week.

“Transitions, big or small, are rarely straight-forward. They require abandoning the parts of ourselves that feel safe and familiar. It is a massive task to intentionally choose change over comfort. But it taught me to trust myself more and embrace the shifts. l've developed a new sense of gratitude for the growing pains and heartache. The quiet season in my life taught me to hold on. To trust the flow of my river, even when no one is around to help or guide me. Becoming my true self was brutal, but the process brought out the beauty in my life that I ached for. It made room for more love and less judgment, more self-belief and less fear.”

I. Shining Enough Light

Leadership is not about pulling people to follow your path. It's about shining enough light for them to find their own route.

  • Bosses aim to wield power. They issue commands to maintain control.

  • Leaders strive to empower. They delegate authority to unleash potential.

II. From Good to Great

3 keys to being a top performer in any area of life:

  1. Give a great effort: If you are going to do something, do the best that you are capable of. Working hard is a choice. It’s the most fundamental decision you make each morning.

  2. Have a great attitude: Choose to be positive when others don’t. Choose to be optimistic when others won’t. No matter what happens to you, choose a thoughtful and kind response. Be coachable. Be a good teammate. Be an energy giver.

  3. Make great decisions: Your life is the culmination of every decision you make. If you want a good life, make good decisions. Do what’s right, not what’s cool… especially during the unseen hours. Take care of your body. Process your emotions. Leave things better than you found them. Make decisions your future self with thank you for!

III. A Beautiful Life is Built

Happiness is not how your life appears, it is the quality of your connection to it.

  • How deeply and intimately those bonds run.

  • How much you truly cared about what you were doing and the people around you.

  • And the memories you made and how bravely you put your heart into your days, rather than hiding yourself away and wondering if you could make things appear full on the surface, while it all sits empty just beneath.

A beautiful life is not stumbled upon, it is built.

The Last Words…

“One of the best secrets of a happy life is the art of extracting comfort and sweetness from every circumstance…People are always looking for happiness at some future time and in some new thing, or some new set of circumstances, in possession of which they some day expect to find themselves. But the fact is, if happiness is not found now, where we are, and as we are, there is little chance of it ever being found. There is a great deal more happiness around us day by day than we have the sense or power to seek and find. If we are to cultivate the art of living, we should cultivate the art of extracting sweetness and comfort out of everything, as the bee goes from flower to flower in search of honey.”
