“Today you can take a great step toward a return to love by healing your relationship with yourself. Love for yourself is the key to loving others. When your relationship with yourself is based on love and respect, your relationship with everything in life will change, including your relationships with the people you love.”

― Don Miguel Ruiz, The Mastery of Love: A Practical Guide to the Art of Relationship

I. Try This: A New Morning Routine

Every morning make some time for:

  • Thankfulness: Express gratitude to someone, some place, or something every day. This includes thinking it, writing it, and sharing it.

  • Insight: Gain insight through reading a book or listening to a podcast.

  • Meditation: Spend fifteen minutes alone, breathing, visualizing or with sound.

  • Exercise: We monks did yoga, but you can do some basic stretches or a workout.

Thankfulness. Insight. Meditation. Exercise = T.I.M.E. ― A new way to put time into your morning.

II. Gentle Reminders On Self-Love

“Self-love teaches me that empathy, compassion, and showing up fully must start from within.” Alexandra Elle, In Courage Journal: A Daily Practice for Self-Discovery

  • Learning to love ourselves is a daily practice.

  • Internal forgiveness is key for self-preservation.

  • We can show up for others without forgetting about ourselves.

  • Life is not so much about learning how to love ourselves. It’s unlearning all the ways that we reject ourselves.

  • We can protect our hearts without being afraid to love.

  • You are enough. Yes, You.

III. Moving From Prisoner to Pioneer

Daily actions we should avoid doing:

  • Taking without giving.

  • Efforts without results.

  • Theory without practice.

  • Reading without thinking.

  • Relationships without love.

  • Living without mindfulness.

  • Consuming without creating.

  • Doing without understanding.

  • Responding without listening.

  • Moving on without forgiveness.

IV. Question

List the reasons why you are enough.

Show up for yourself in ways no one else can. You are worthy.

V. This Week I Will

  1. Love unconditionally.

  2. Schedule 3 things I love doing.

  3. Choose thoughts that empower me.

  4. Celebrate the small wins and milestones.

  5. Write down 3 reasons why I am proud of myself.

The Last Words…

“Do not expect to receive the love from someone else you do not give to yourself…The light of love is always in us, no matter how cold the flame. It is always present, waiting for the spark to ignite, waiting for the heart to awaken.”
