Sunday Thinking

"The sooner you figure out which chairs don't belong at your table, the more peaceful your meals become."

In partnership with

The weekly Sunday Thinking newsletter is quick-hit content that aims to provide a booster shot to your thought process as you end and start your week.

"I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but your peace and purpose are important. Every step you take, even if you feel lost, is leading and guiding you. Do not lose sight of how far you’ve traveled in this life. I know that every path hasn’t been beautiful. I know that some days it feels hard to walk through the sandy parts of the journey. Release the idea that your pain needs to speak for you. Yes, it can have a voice and take up space—but your pain isn’t the leader of your path. Love is."

― Alex Elle, Gratitude Journal

I. Just Do It

Finish something. Anything

  • Stop researching, planning, and preparing to do the work and just do the work.

  • It doesn't matter how good or how bad it is. You don't need to set the world on fire with your first try.

  • You just need to prove to yourself that you have what it takes to produce something.

There are no artists, athletes, entrepreneurs, or scientists who became great by half-finishing their work. Stop debating what you should make and just make something.

II. Building Championship Culture

Things that kill your team culture:

  • Ego and Gossip

  • Insecurity and Confusion

  • Isolation and Defensiveness

  • Inconsistency and Self-preservation

  • Doubt and Avoidance

Things that build your team culture:

  • Trust and Humility

  • Confidence and Connection

  • Consistency and Vulnerability

  • Commitment and Honesty

  • Clarity and Belief

Changing culture takes time. Every day is a battle against busyness. What was good yesterday can be on shaky ground today. But the fight is worth it. Believe in yourself, your people, and the vision. Celebrate progress. Show up daily.

III. A Gentle Reminder

Having talent can give you a head start, but it does not help you finish the race. Here are gentle reminders for the week ahead:

  • Don’t wait too long to act on your plans. Start before you are ready.

  • Truly listening to other’s perspectives is a sign of inner strength.

  • Learn what you need to take care of yourself and do it often.

  • Be generous with your kindness, it is more powerful than you think.

  • Know that in the present moment is where your true power lies.

  • If you want to be intelligent, read a lot.

  • If you want to grow, listen to your intuition.

  • If you want inner peace, embrace the truth that everything changes.

V. Question

Two questions at the center of improvement: How quickly can you get started and how quickly can you learn from your mistakes?

VI. This Week, I Will

  1. Finish something.

  2. Think a little less and live a little more.

  3. Nourish my spirit through self-expression.

  4. Spend more time with someone that makes me smile.

  5. Let go of the outcome and find gratitude in the journey.

The Last Words…

"We look at life like it's about what you can get from life. You know that's not what it is. You gonna always be unfulfilled if you look at life like that. It's about knowing you gonna leave one day. And you know, when you leave, the only way you gonna be fulfilled is if, you know, you gave everything you had. You emptied yourself here and you left it all here. Cause it's temporary. And you got a moment."
