“Reading is the key that opens doors to many good things in life. Reading shaped my dreams, and more reading helped me make my dreams come true.”

— Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

I. Every Day Behavior

This moment and the future depends on how we decide to show up.

  • Love & Kindness

  • Patience & Politeness

  • Positivity & Gratitude

  • Responsibility & Honesty

  • Resilence & Organization

  • Forgiveness & Understanding

II. Calm Anxiety in 3 Steps

  1. Open your attention to the present moment.

  2. Focus on the breath.

  3. Bring your attention to your body.

Mindfulness isn’t about changing or fixing the content of our challenging thoughts, it’s about becoming more intimately and consistently aware of these thoughts and patterns. The awareness itself reduces the grip of persistent and pernicious thought loops and storylines.”

III. Listening Roadblocks

  • Talking too much, too often.

  • Preconceived ideas and thoughts.

  • Lack of interest in the conversation.

  • Thinking of responses during the communication process.

  • The inability to relax and concentrate on the moment at hand.

The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen.

IV. Question

Which moment from last week was the most memorable and why? What’s the #1 thing I want to accomplish this week?

V. This Week I Will

  1. Laugh.

  2. Pace myself.

  3. Decompress.

  4. Make some art.

  5. Take a break from technology.

The Last Words…

“Only one thing matters: live a good, happy life. Do your heart's bidding, even when it leads you on paths that timid souls would avoid. Even when life is a torment, don't let it harden you.”

― Wilhelm Reich
