“Do I want the present moment to be my friend or my enemy? The present moment is inseparable from life, so you are really deciding what kind of relationship you want to have with life.”

― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now

I. Focus on What You Can Control

A daily question that nurtures our emotional intelligence is "what's in my control?"

We can spend far too much time, energy, and effort on things that we can't control.

While we can't control everything in life, we can control how we react and respond.

In life, we are always in control of our:

  1. Efforts

  2. Thoughts

  3. Emotions

  4. Decisions

II. The Power of Making a Decision

Decision-making is the foundation for growth and discovery in many areas of life:

  • Personal Life + Self-Care

  • Professional Performance + Leadership

  • Networking + Relationship Management

  • Career Exploration + Brand Management

  • Business Opportunities + Financial Management

Just like with sports, having a process for performing our decision making action is critical when making personal + professional life decisions and strategizing our lives.

III. The Art of Slowing Down

Gentle reminders to allow ourselves to slow down in this busy world as we run our race and not someone else's journey:

  • I choose to be happy or very happy.

  • I dare to be different and uncommon.

  • I am worthy of designing my life and manifesting my wildest dreams.

  • I am not my flaws or mistakes. Each season in my life has helped me to learn, heal, grow and evolve into a wiser and more real version of who I am today.

Have you taken the time to truly take a look at how far you have come and enjoy the results?

IV. What We’re Excited About

Every aspiring founder faces the same difficulty — ideas are easy to come by, but bringing them to life is a whole different story.

Whether it’s lacking the tools, the expertise, the collaborators or the motivation, far too many business ideas are just collecting dust on the shelf, and aspiring founders are wasting their potential.

Day Zero solves for that. Day Zero is a new community from the folks at Day One, who have helped over 200 founders launch startups like Zette and Reconcile.

With Day Zero, you'll engage with like-minded aspiring founders as well as serial entrepreneurs to explore new business ideas and leverage tools and playbooks to master the validation process.

Ultimately, you'll learn what it takes to launch a new business, while taking the steps to get your own ideas off the ground.

V. Question

In what part of your life can you slow down?

VI. This Week I Will

  1. Choose to be present.

  2. Let go of any negative energy.

  3. Radiate positivity in my living.

  4. Forgive myself for past mistakes.

  5. Show up in faith with a mindset of getting 1% better daily.
