How Do You Want to Feel in 2020?

The last thing any of us want to do is to die with our dreams still inside of us.

“Today, you have the opportunity to transcend from a disempowered mindset of existence to an empowered reality of purpose-driven living. Today is a new day that has been handed to you for shaping. You have the tools, now get out there and create a masterpiece.” — Steve Maraboli

Due to the emergence of technological innovations and social media, we are living in a period with increased global connectivity. Yet, at the same time, these visionary digital breakthroughs have created disconnect within our teams, organizations, communities, institutions, and families. Our society remains immensely connected to WiFi yet out of service with empathy.

In a few days, we will bring in the New Year. We have experienced an array of events, emotions, accomplishments, and defeats individually and collectively in 2019. Through all of humanity’s chaos, violence, uneasiness, fear, anxiety, and uncertainty, there is still a preciousness, hope, and beauty about this journey called life. Setbacks and comebacks present us with unique opportunities to discover or rediscover who we are and what we stand for. These experiences allow us to cultivate courage and a life filled with more intent, authenticity, vulnerability, and purpose.

Every day is truly a New Year. A new beginning to discover, to let go, to grow, to inspire, to prosper, to empower, and to be a positive difference-maker in the life of another person. As 2020 approaches, refocus and revitalize your mind, body, and spirit. We can all do a better job of managing our energy, time, and environment.

Transformation does not happen overnight, although that narrative gets continuously sold. Yet change can and will occur if we alleviate distractions and prioritize our craft as well as our physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and professional growth.

Challenge yourself in 2020 to dare to be great while dreaming big. Dare to dream the impossible dream. Dare to stand out in the crowd. Dare to think differently and be different. If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.

Realize after visioning and strategizing, you must focus on the execution, repetition, and consistency. Break down your dreams into small actionable and manageable daily tasks. Every day no matter how busy you become, be sure to take time to do something that brings you closer to your dreams. The last thing any of us want to do is to die with our dreams still inside of us.

The time for urgency has never been more paramount. The time is now, at this moment, and in 2020 to do better. To be better —and to practice the virtues of grace and gratitude in our daily living. As we heal our hearts, minds, and souls, we begin debunking our fears, ego, and insecurities. Improving and leading oneself allows us to serve as beacons of inspiration for our teams, organizations, communities, and families in moving progress and the conversation forward.
